Lead Paint Defense
Bodie’s lead paint defense team has had considerable, demonstrated success defending both multi-million dollar corporations and individual homeowners in lead paint lawsuits. Supervising the lead paint defense team are partners S. Todd Willson and Christopher M. McNally, who have over 37 years combined experience defending lead-paint cases. Mr. Willson and Mr. McNally are both AV-rated through Martindale-Hubbell and were selected as 2015 Maryland Super Lawyers.
The Bodie team works with many leading insurance providers on behalf of their insured property owners, in addition to uninsured homeowners. Bodie’s lead paint defense team is committed to actively engaging clients to assist not only in the defense of present lawsuits, but to helping clients prevent future lawsuits.
The Bodie team strives to resolve lead paint cases as early and inexpensively as possible through aggressive investigation and negotiations, and works with some of the best experts and consultants in the field to bring creative solutions to the handling of lead paint matters. However, when settlement is not an option, the Bodie team does not shy away from trial: supervising partner Todd Willson has successfully tried multiple cases to verdict before the toughest jury panels in Maryland, including the seminal case of Thomas v. Bethea, 351 Md. 513.
In addition to defending clients both in and out of court, the Bodie team has given numerous scholarly lectures and presentations on lead paint litigation and lead paint defense. Recently, supervising partner Christopher McNally was selected as a co-chair of the 2015 National Lead Litigation Conference. Mr. McNally has also given numerous presentations to individual carriers and clients. Additionally, the Bodie team is actively involved in the Maryland Multi Housing Association, whose legislative committee works with elected officials in Annapolis to make positive changes for the protection of property owners throughout the state.
Bodie’s lead team is committed to aggressive advocacy at all levels of litigation and detailed preparation for trial, with protection of its clients being of paramount importance.
